Frequently Asked Questions

My alarm didn't go off. What happened?+
Alora Wake layers its wake stimulus, so a missed alarm is unusual — but a few preventable causes still come up. The most common is the app being force-quit from the app switcher, which prevents background notifications from firing. Make sure Alora Wake isn’t being closed manually, that notifications are enabled in iOS Settings, that your phone has battery overnight, and that Low Power Mode is off when you’re using Smart Wake. More about the wake chain at /reliability.
How do I connect Apple Music?+
Go to any alarm's edit screen and tap the audio source selector. Choose Apple Music and follow the authorization prompt. Full playback requires an active Apple Music subscription. Non-subscribers can browse the catalog and use built-in alarm sounds.
Why is Smart Wake waking me earlier than my alarm time?+
Smart Wake reads body signals in the final stretch before your alarm and brings you out a few minutes earlier when you're closer to the surface of sleep. The goal is to reduce grogginess — wake on the way up rather than mid-cycle. You can adjust the window or turn Smart Wake off in the alarm's settings.
How does the free trial work?+
Alora Wake Premium includes a 7-day free trial. You won't be charged until the trial ends. You can cancel anytime in iOS Settings > Your Name > Subscriptions > Alora Wake.
How do I cancel my subscription?+
Open iOS Settings > tap your name at the top > Subscriptions > Alora Wake > Cancel Subscription. Apple manages all billing — we cannot cancel subscriptions on your behalf.
Does sleep tracking work without an Apple Watch?+
Yes. iPhone-only sleep tracking uses device motion to estimate patterns. Apple Watch adds heart rate and HRV signals for finer detail in the wake-up window, but it isn't required.
Can I use Alora Wake as my only alarm?+
Yes. The wake stimulus is layered — if one path doesn’t fire, the next does, with a sound bundled inside the app at the bottom of the stack. On iOS 26 and later, Alora Wake uses the system-level alarm capability iOS makes available to apps that wake people up — the same capability Apple’s built-in Clock app uses. Read the details at /reliability.
What data does Alora Wake collect?+
Only what the app needs to function — sleep data, location for weather/traffic, and optional microphone for vocal challenges. Nothing is sold or shared. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
